April 26, 2023 was a big night for both the Playground Committee and the Friends of the Town of Clinton Parks and Events.

Members from the booster club were thrilled to present Town with a check for $22,263.47. The Friends’ donation, along with remaining state grant money raised in 2022 by Councilwoman Megan Johnson and former Councilwoman Lisa Intrabartola, was used to purchase traditional and inclusive tandem swings as well as slides and climbing equipment for children ages 2 to 5 that will be installed this summer.
Booster club President, Andrea Ippolito and Treasurer Lisa Intrabartola recognized all the local residents who participated in the Booster Club’s first year of fundraising events, especially Town resident and owner of Tranquilli Financial Advisor, Lou Tranquilli, and President of ShopRite of Hunterdon County, Joseph Colalillo, for their donations of $25,000 and $20,000 respectively.
In addition to celebrating this accomplishment, The Playground Committee introduced phase three of the Town’s playground project: A ramped structure featuring both adaptive and traditional play equipment designed to foster inclusive play among children ages 5 to 12. The total cost of this structure – the largest planned for the playground – is estimated to be $286,827.30. MRC Recreation has agreed to waive installation fees that would have tacked another 40% on to this phase of the project. Thanks to Councilwoman Johnson, who earlier this month secured $100,000 for the project through a 2023 New Jersey DCA Local Recreation Town is halfway toward its goal of funding phase three of the playground.
